So Thankful!!

Holy Cocoa-Mo! Beatrix has been open for eight weeks now and we are truly delighted by everyone who has visited for cake and coffee and other eats! The feedback and support has been super overwhelming!
Nat has been baking her buns off and loving it! Quince and ricotta cheesecakes, gingerbread hula hoops, brown sugar pavlovas, coconut raspberry cupcakes, pear tarte tatin and chocolate cassia custard doughnuts on Saturdays. And our lemon chiffon cake is made with lemons from Verena who lives three doors away from Beatrix!

Evelyn, Sarah, Adam, Joe and Amanda have formed the team of breathtaking baristas, pouring beautiful Allpress coffees and Art of Tea teas (the Australian Breakfast tea is A-MAZ-ING!). And we are digging that people are becoming fans of our ciabatta menu too. The wonderful ciabatta rolls are from Let’s-A-Loaf (hehe) bakery in Caroline Springs. And the current favourites in our  Ciabatta Hall of Fame are:
The Shakshuka- Braised peppers and tomato, fried egg, fetta and mint.
Bea-L-T – Otway Ranges bacon, cos, ripe Doncaster tomato and apple aioli.

St Brigid – Roast free range chicken with fennel mustard mayonnaise and cos-slaw.
The Chachi – Chianina White Beef and ricotta meatballs with fresh mozzarella, basil and balsamic roquette.
The Phoenix – Roasted pumpkin frittata, smoky baba ghannouj and chopped chickpea salad.
As the weather turns chilly, plans are afoot for winter soups and twice baked souffles and a bigger breakfast menu on the weekends.

Sit and sip delicious Allpress Coffee while you savour our selection of flavourous, favourites including:

-       Flaky cream-cheese pastries filled with peach jam and spiced pecans.

-       Gingerbread Hula-Hoops.

-       Creamy ricotta-filled Cannoli.

-       Brown Sugar Pavlova.

-       Lamb and Fetta Sausage Roll.

Or simply dine on The Weekday Ciabatta – a different filling to fill you each day of the week.

Never too sweet or over-garnished these delights carry with them a charming hand-made straightforwardness.


Cakes and pastries can be eaten-in while staring wistfully out the window at the North Melbourne ‘country-meets-the-city vibe’ or have them take-away for more private enjoyment.

Beatrix is open every day of the week except Tuesdays from 8AM until 4PM, and from 9AM on weekends.

Our suppliers love what they do too…

We serve Allpress Coffee’s ‘City Blend’, Riverina Fresh milk and cream, ethically farmed eggs and meat. Striving to do whatever is ethically possible, we use mostly local and Australian ingredients.

In fact, we encourage your efforts to become an ethically evolved human…

We sell ‘Hookturn’ reusable coffee cups and use our food waste for composting, which we will happily donate to any needy garden beds in the area.
